Brown Bag Lunches
Designated Fridays throughout the year
As a way of living out two of the Corporal Works of Mercy this school year, we will be feeding the hungry and giving drink to the thirsty through our Brown Bag Lunch Fridays project. We are asking every family who is able to send in:
- a bologna, ham, or turkey sandwich with cheese and mustard (please no mayonnaise) OR a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
- a snack
- a bag of chips
- a piece of fruit
- Optional: A small note or prayer; no signature required
We will be doing this on designated Fridays throughout the school year. These lunches are distributed throughout the area to local homeless shelters, camps, and to others in great need. Please know that every lunch is needed and appreciated.

HOPE FOR ALL
HOPE For All exists as a Christian ministry to assist God’s people without sufficient resources to provide for their own basic needs. Mr. Leo Zerhusen, founder of HOPE For All and former teacher at St. Philip Neri, and his wife Diane founded this charity in 2004. During more than 40 combined years of teaching experience, they saw how children lacking basic needs were at a disadvantage for finding a promising future. That awareness combined with a strong faith and years of Christian service resulted in their decision to establish HOPE For All. Phone number is 410-766-0372. hopeforall.us
Christmas Giving
We collect donations of toys for those needing a little extra help at Christmas time.

Canned Goods for NCEON
Throughout the year we collected canned goods to help those less fortunate. All of these items are donated to the food pantry at the SPN Parish Outreach program. In addition, as a participating church and school at the Linthicum Community Fair, we collected canned goods for NCEON (North County Emergency Outreach Network).

KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS POSTER CONTEST – December 2025
The St. Philip Neri Knights of Columbus Council 14612 invites students in grades K-8th to participate in the organization’s international Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest.
“By engaging the creativity and imaginations of our youth, we hope they will come to a deeper understanding of the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas,” said Council 14612 Grand Knight Dan Young. The contest will be conducted locally with winning entries advancing to the district/region and then to state, national and international levels. The winning entries may serve as the basis for a series of new Christmas posters that encourage a deeper understanding of the holiday.
“The posters will be distributed in the countries where the Knights are active as part of our Keep Christ in Christmas campaign,” said Grand Knight Dan Young. “Creative credit will also be given to the winning artists.”
