The St. Philip Neri Parish Youth Ministry sponsors a twice monthly meeting for the youth of our parish and school called Life Teen and Edge Ministry from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Have you ever heard of Life Teen? Life Teen is “a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church. Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide, Life Teen seeks to unleash the fullness of the Sacramental power present within the young Church.” Life Teen “exists to empower youth ministers and parishes to evangelize teens. Life Teen believes that when a teenager encounters Christ through the beauty of the Catholic Church, they will transform their parish, community, and culture.” Have you ever heard of Edge? Edge is a version of Life Teen for middle school youth. It “creates fun and engaging materials to help teach young people about Jesus and the Catholic Faith.” Just like Life Teen, Edge seeks to help middle school youth encounter Christ through the beauty of the Catholic Church, in such a way that “they will transform their parish, community, and culture.” Every Edge and Life Teen meeting starts off with something fun! The fun activity in some way relates to the theme of the evening, which is followed by a brief, interactive teaching of about 10 minutes. Then, youth break up into small groups where they can share their faith, ask questions, and wrestle with new ideas. The idea is that as they build community within their small group, the teens grow as disciples of Christ. Each Edge and Life Teen night ends with an opportunity to encounter Jesus through prayer. It’s about knowing Jesus personally.
